About - my approach
" For me the picture is clear, this is your wedding, your special day! My job is to capture the event as it unfolds through beautiful imagery. "
John Burrows
About me
" To say I’m passionate about photography would be like saying Cumbria is ‘nice’; a completely underwhelming observation. I love it! "

Every couple is different, being sensitive to different personalities is important enabling you to feel comfortable and at ease.
My interaction can go from being a pure photojournalist, shooting in a documentary style to mixing it up with a few staged group shots and some considered photographs with the bride and groom. Even then I like to keep it informal, making you nice and relaxed.
I genuinely get excited about shooting weddings, I enjoy the day and feel privileged to take photographs of the occasion.
Some photography can miss the beauty, fun and emotion of your wedding day. I truly believe that good photography is one of the most important aspects in preserving and enhancing precious memories of your special day.
I will always keep an eye on time as I want you to enjoy the occasion with your family and friends.
Making the right choice
Sometimes it’s hard to get a true feel for the photographer and their work just through a website. I would encourage you to meet up with me before you book, so you can experience the sample album to get a strong idea of the quality of work and materials used. It also gives us a chance to get to know each other and to exchange ideas. I think this meeting allows you to make a much more informed decision, and I want you to be happy with your choice.

I'm a husband, father and photographer. I have lived on three continents, in five countries but now have firm roots in the Lake District. My wife is a local and Dacre Church is where we were fortunate enough to get married. I loved our wedding day and often re-live it through memories brought on by conversation and of course photographs.
